Reinvention

Today has been a stellar evolution of positive steps in my recovery process.   Staples were removed and I could make a full pedal rotation on my stationary bike.   It seems as though a new lease on life has emerged.    With the healing process well on its way, I have given myself the freedom of figuring out what I want out of my life once I am fully mobile.  Yesterday, I shared that I reached out of my comfort zone to explore a potential writing opportunity.   While that seems unlikely due to a different direction those in charge wish to take, it has given me a new motivation to recreate my image and to add to my already amazing career.

Interestingly enough, I am realizing in the game of writing, the “younger” generation has the cornerstone in articulating our culture’s direction.    “New blood” with a more in touch vibe seems to be the direction that I am up against.   That doesn’t discourage me in the least.  It doesn’t devalue what I have to offer, but it does make me pause and contemplate how I can best meet my needs and still spread my voice through the masses.

While having a new knee has brought energy and an attitude of gratitude, it has also allowed me to redirect myself.   I have always believed that with big changes comes even larger opportunities that reveal themselves unexpectedly.   I’m not sure how it will all play out, but really, that is the beauty of it.   Expecting the unexpected allows me to be open for a multitude of surprises that would not have been uncovered had I not been open to them.
