Oh, I woke up a tad annoyed this morning. I could blame it on hormones, annoying testosterone filled humans that reside in my house, or the twenty messages on my Facebook messenger that all rattled off the same message…..Hello, Can you put a (heart emoji) on your wall, without a comment, only a heart, then send this message to your female contacts. After putting one (heart emoji) on the wall of the person who sent you this message. If anyone asks why you have so many hearts on your wall do not answer. It is for women only to remember it’s the week of breast cancer prevention. Check your boobies! Hold your finger down on the message and hit forward. Today, let’s go with the Facebook messenger messages. For the love of Jesus, please stop!
I appreciate that you all want me to check my boobies. Trust me, I do my annual mammogram. I even scoop my boobies off the ground to check them for lumps. If I thought that putting a heart emoji on my wall would help defeat breast cancer, I would, but it doesn’t, so I won’t. And before I get a lot of comments about how insensitive I am, you can stop before you type. The reality is we have all been touched by breast cancer and prevention is vital.
Ah……I feel so much better sharing this with you. You guys get me, right? Seriously, if you love putting heart emojis on the wall because you got a Facebook messenger request, then I applaud you. Really, if that is your thing great, it just isn’t mine.
Let’s make a goal to be more respective of other people’s space which includes social media. There is a lot of good to be done in the world and most of it is outside the realms of copying, pasting, forwarding, and heart emojis.
