Maximum Service

Oh, people. We aren’t even through the first week of this quarantine shit and humans are already getting on my nerves, and I am not even with them. Social media should be a way of real connection right now, but instead we have the groups that are going to judge those who are simply going about their lives. None of your business. Worry about yourselves. Until this quarantine situation is mandatory, people are going do what they are going to do. Instead of being all judgy and shit, let’s support each other. We are in this together. Stop being assholes. (Yes, I am aware that I am judging the judgy. Somebody has to. Might as well be me.)

Then we have the groups that are so bored they are posting those either outdated news items or fake posts where you need to copy and paste. Read a book people or better yet, actually fact-find before posting. Seriously. We have enough misinformation out there. Those Navy Seals died in 2011 not recently.

I prefer posts like the one where an individual paid for the groceries of the man in front of her because he shared that he had been laid off due to the virus and has four children to feed. He was panicked. Her generosity eased his mind and opened his heart. That’s the stuff that should be happening on a regular basis.

Yes, this is a serious time, but we have to remember that projecting into the future isn’t helpful. Panicking isn’t helpful. Judging others isn’t helpful. Figure out how you can be of service even if it is virtual. Keep things light. Find the gratitude. This. Is. Temporary. We will get through this. Slow your roll with the overreaction. If you are not part of the solution, then you must be part of the problem. This is a time for us to come together. So much toxicity in our society since the last presidential election, that we have lost sight of simply loving our fellow man. Sure, now we have to do that from afar, but it can still be done. Lift each other up. Empower one another. Honestly, we have nothing but time, so maybe add that to your quarantine activities.
