Our Corner of the World

I knew it was a matter of time until Brian’s workplace had its first confirmed case of COVID-19. Yesterday, he got the phone call that he would be off work until at least Thursday so they can completely disinfect the facility. The fact that he is still working is a blessing and a curse. Grateful we still have a steady paycheck, but a tad worried that he will be infected. You know, because he inherited the genetic shit show of heart disease and diabetes. He is a walking advertisement for most of the drugs you see advertised on television. Anyway, it is what it is. This is just another part of this delightful episode of “Pandemic 2020”.

The one good thing that happened yesterday was the mobile groomer came and Daisy finally got her nails trimmed along with having a bath. You would have thought I was sending her to the torture chamber. As she was being led to her spa appointment, I swear she was glowering at me. Whatever. She is terribly ungrateful. When she emerged, her attitude was still a tad bitchy, but her nails were nice and short. I was a little jealous as it reminded me of the good ole days when I would go and get my haircut. Maybe one day, I too, will get to experience going to a salon.

Oh, and just in case you were curious, my mother hates her vibrator, oops, I mean massager, that she insisted she needed due to her shoulder pain. Let me state for the record, that I order numerous things for her from Amazon, and return most of them. When she called to tell me that the massage “hurt”, I informed her that there were different levels of intensity to choose from, but she insisted that she hated it. I shared that I would no longer be ordering items from Amazon for her. I say that, but you all know that isn’t true. It is the cycle of insanity.

That’s what is going on in our little corner of the world. A lot of excitement for one day. I think I will hang out at home today. You know, pretty much what I have been doing for 56,000 days. The only difference is I will be residing in a cozy chair, instead of my bed. I need a geographical cure.
